Elmhurst Easter Egg Hunt 2011

On Saturday, we went down to Wilder Park as a family for the Annual Easter Egg Hunt.  Fortunately for us (and Eloise), the Park District breaks down the kids into different age groups - mostly to avoid trampling and such.  We were in the 1-3 age group and had SO much fun.  Nat has other photos and likely better ones, but I'll let her post those at a later date.
The Easter Bunny was there - standing in the middle of the circle of kids.  He counted down and then everyone ran in to grab as many eggs and pencils as they could.
Eloise jumped right in and charged after the eggs.  Unfortunately, the Park District had some spring-colored cones lining the outside of the circle to mark where we needed to stay back from at the beginning.  Those proved too attractive to our daughter and she tried to pick up as many of those as she could.
Eventually she got the hang of it and started to pick up the eggs and pencils that were laying at her feet.
She ended up picking up 4 eggs and 4 pencils - ALL BY HERSELF!
After the hunt, we hung around Wilder Park for an hour and played on the playground equipment and generally tuckered Eloise out.  For a first-timer at an Egg Hunt, I'd say she did pretty well.  All those toddlers out there better watch out next year!
