Your Life: Month Two

Dear Wheezie,

2 months already. I am so happy and - at the same time - sad that you are growing up. You are getting stronger everyday. You kick with strength and are starting to hold your head up under your own power. All pretty impressive feats. But that's nothing compared to your smile. You've finally figured out how to smile - really smile - at times. When we play on the floor, I've been saying repeatedly "da-da, da-da, da-da" and after a bit you give me a smirk which works it's way into a full out mouth-open smile! There is NOTHING in this world that beats that moment. I can't wait to share more happy experiences with you throughout our lives together.

The past month took you on your first of two trips up to Michigan. Coloma is a place of very strong happy memories for me, and I hope that it becomes that for you. We made one short trip followed by an entire week of relaxing. You spent time in South Haven, St. Joe's and Holland and aside from your screaming fit in Meijer, I think you enjoyed it!

You also were baptized. Your mom and I picked two wonderful Godparents for you and they love you as much as we do. After the ceremony, we had everyone come back to our house had threw you a little party! Your Grammy and Granddad and Noonie and Papa taking turns holding on to you. Even your Great Grampy was there! You wore the same outfit that I wore when I was baptized. In fact, all of your aunts (my sisters) and your cousins (on the Parrillo side) wore the same thing, too. (Yes...even the boys wore a dress!) To complement your gown, your mom had you wear a bonnet that she wore on her baptism day that was given to her by her Grammy and Grampie. You looked awfully cute.

The next few months will probably go fast, but as we approach the spring, both your mother and I can't wait to show you all the things the world has in store for you. We have the stroller ready to roll out the door - as soon as the snow melts - and all of the neighborhood kids can't wait to meet you.

You are the most precious baby girl in the world. Don't grow up too fast!

Love you,

Dad
